The Oaks at Fallon Park Voted Best Address to Live by Readers of Midtown Magazine

The 41 homeowner families living at The Oaks at Fallon Park already know The Oaks is the best address in midtown, maybe even in Raleigh or Wake County. But, a recent poll of Midtown readers confirmed it, landing The Oaks a Diamond Award at an elegant celebratory event for nominees and winners held at Mura Restaurant in North Hills. Since its inception in September 2007, The Oaks has been recognized with five Home Builder Association Awards and by Metro Magazine with its Metro Bravo Award for Best New Development, making this the Oaks’ second “people’s choice” award.

Homeowners Gretchen and Pete Curtice weren’t surprised about the award. One of the first families to move to The Oaks, Gretchen says, “We moved here because we liked the idea of a walking neighborhood, new custom-designed homes, a pool, a park and a strong feeling of community -- we got all of that and so much more!  Now we love it for all those reasons plus the new friends we have made while living here. We can call on a neighbor any time of day for anything and someone is here to help out. Our neighbors are like family. We can’t see ourselves any other place.”

This award reflects The Oaks’ stellar sales record in 2010, with 10 homes sold ranging from $605,000 to $975,000. This represents one in every eight homes sold inside the beltline between $600k and $1 million, according to Van Fletcher, Broker/Realtor with the Allen Tate Company. “We are also off to a strong start in 2011 with two sales in the first two weeks of January,” says Fletcher. “By summer we’ll have six to seven new inventory homes priced between $600k and $800K, in addition to the two presales currently underway. I project that the undersupply of new construction inside the beltline will make The Oaks the hot spot in the luxury market for the foreseeable future.”

"We are extremely proud of our builders for continuing to deliver beautiful, custom-designed homes that honor the Fallon Park neighborhood’s history and towering oak trees, but at the same time offer modern building materials, high-energy efficiency ratings, and low-maintenance to our homebuyers," says Gordon Grubb, president and CEO of Grubb Ventures, LLC. "It has been a joy to watch this neighborhood take shape and become a true community.”
